Chevette/Kadett brake upgrade (PRICE INCREASE JANUARY)
« on: January 24, 2010, 04:30:28 PM »
Well chaps i am pleased to say i can offer a brake upgrade once again :)

In the original kit i was using discs from a Astra GSI which needed a aluminium spacer making to correct the offset, this made the kits quite expensive.

I have now started using discs from a Audi 80 which are the correct offset and don't need the spacer but still need the center bore increasing and redrilling to match the Chevette/Kadett hub.

The calipers used with the discs are still from MK3 Astra GSI and not provided.

This is the old setup with the Astra discs the Audi ones look the same but without the spacer :)

I can supply a choice of modified discs,

Brembo (or equivalent) £120 + P&P

Quinton Hazell (or equivalent) £95 + P&P

Prices could change depending on price at time of order. but not by much ;)

The calipers bolt straight on with no modification but you do have limit the steering slightly to stop them hitting the lower arms on full lock. I'll post a pic of how i did it when i get chance to take one :)

Hello

Im interested in a pair of these discs for my Kadett. Did you get a chance to get a picture of how to limit the steering yet?

Also do you accept paypal?

And finally if using a pair of gsi calipers will the brake pipes connect straight up ie are they the same thread pattern as origional i would imagine metric?

Hi I shall get a pic of the steering stop this evening.

I'm not sure about the original brake pipes as i never tried them, i made up some braided hoses.

Cheers Jonathan

As promised a picture of how i limited the steering.

I drilled and tapped the steering stop at the bottom of each hub and screwed in a 8mm cap head bolt and tightened it up against the stop, simples ;)

Two bolt will be provided with each kit

The only choice for discs are the two above, P@P would be £10
