would it be possible to have a members cars section available to casual visitors to the site  nothing vast just a single piccy for each member  :cog:

Hi Ian,

It would be possible of course, but there is no way of limiting the number of images a user can post using a photobucket account. Currently visitors can post images of their car in the general discussion forum if they want to. An advantage of paying your money to join the club is you can then create your own thread in the "blogs" section detailing your own car and post as many images as you want without the need for a separate account. Also uploading high quality images to our gallery is reserved for paying members only. Whilst I can see your point that it is nice to see what our visitors are driving, they are welcome to post as many images as they like in the general discussion forum.

I'm open to input on this though if it doesn't seem fair  ;)

Seems very fair to me John, to diminish the benefits of membership would surely be a good way of reducing the membership numbers. COG is one of the cheapest club/groups that I'm a member of, the £15 is money well spent, the information contained in the members blogs has not only inspired but also helped me with my build. I'm overwhelmed by the friendliness of COG compared to other car groups so let's keep the benefits of membership and therefore subscription money coming in, without this the club wouldn't survive in its current form. It's said you don't get anything for nothing, you do with COG, but you get so much more as a member, long may it stay that way. What is £15 these days, 2 1/2 galls of petrol...

Maybe a group photo from a past billing or this years billing could adorn our welcome page so it hits you on your very first sight of our website what we are all about  just a thought     we need about 11 or 12 chevettes to car write COG   see the total Opel dot com front page to see what I mean   Then all we need is an aerial photo    Anyone got a remote control helicopter and a digital camera    It's our mission should we chose to accept it  :cog:

As a non-paying member, i think it's fair John. At the end of it all, if casual visitors to the site are interested enough, they will find the photos that are throughout the forum and in some respects, these can be more interesting than complete sections of "look at my lovely shiny motor". Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, most casual visitors will either just be surfing the net and not have any real interest in Chevettes or they will be like i once was - thinking/hoping to get a Chevette and more interested in seeing the various things that are happening to Chevettes these days not only in terms of modifying but in terms of long term technical things. The variety of topics in the non-members section asking/offering help with photos and the occasional set of "look at my lovely shiny motor" photos seems (in my mind) to cover this very well and makes a good sales pitch for joining the forum and/or club.

This is of course only my opinion and others may have differing views - however isn't that the whole purpose of opening up the topic by saying you're open to input?
