How do I put up an avatar on profile?

To be honest, whilst all the above benefits are spot on, the biggest benefit in my mind is the whole other side of the forum that is unlocked which includes:
General Chat Area
Events Section
Show Reports
COG Parts
Members Blogs/Builds/Projects
The Newsletters
Chevette Manuals/Knowledge Base
Off Topic Area
Scrapyard finds /rotten row

and other additional features . . . .

Totally agree Mal and when i find a Chevette it's going to be one of the first things i do but meanwhile it's £15 out of the fund if you see my point? Just feel it could add a little more fun/colour/personality if avatars and signatures could be unlocked for honorary members?

Hi Dave, avatars have been reserved for actual members of the club as it is yet another reason to pay the money and become a member.
The more reasons there are to join, the more incentive there is to become a member, the more money we have in the club funds and the better we can make the club. The incentive is obviously working else you wouldn't want me to allow you to have it. 
As for signatures, these have been turned off permanently as they generally look terrible, slow the forum down and make browsing through posts more difficult.
