In your profile, go to "modify profile" -> "forum profile" you can then choose a stock avatar or browse to one on your PC to upload...  8)

I have no idea what I'm looking for there is nothing on the page that mentions avatar, if it is something to do with the URL where do I get that from?

First things first then...
Step one - Where is the picture you are wanting to use as your avatar?

Right then,
Profile;
Modify Profile;
Forum Profile;
Top of page is "Personalised Picture"
if using photobucket then click middle button and enter photobucket address of pic into address box,
or, click bottom button, then click browse button and steer through your computers files to the picture you want to use.
Finally click "Save changes"

The first line at the top of the page says Personal text then under that birth date then next line personal gender and so on.No mention of any pictures on the Modify profile page. It's like on on a different page to you?

I'm not a member, I can't a ford to be shelling out another wad of cash just to get an avatar picture up as I am already paying for 3 already! I can't warrant spending a £ 100 + for a fourth club.

Hi Bones,

Avatars are reserved for COG members only. But as Ashley says, it's only £15 a year to join. That's less that 5 pence per day.

I can understand not wanting to join another club if you are already subscribed to three already.
Here is a list of benefits you can enjoy if you do decide to become a member.

Reduced entry to many shows. Some are free.

Parts scheme

Technical help

Discounts on Chevette T Shirts

Free sticker and keyring

Discounts on parts

Members access on our forum

Monthly newsletter

Also we are offering T shirts to our members this Christmas for only £5 (Half price) as well as a free Chevette calendar and DVD.

Cheers,
John

Thanks John, you've just explained why i'm having the same trouble as Bones! Not that i object to shelling out £15/year but as i'm trying to find a Chevette at the moment (and have a couple of second choices too) i also can't warrant shelling out on a membership i may not be able to benefit from.

Is there no way just the avatar feature could be unlocked for non-paid up members (or honorary members to be posh lol) as it would appear it wouldn't cost anything to support this feature? I'm guessing signatures on posts come under the same "permissions" as avatars which is why i can't upload a signature?

Cheers,
Dave
