I agree not much 'chatting' has been happening, but I'd prefer the box to only show 'chat' as I find it annoying to read through who has posted what and where......as i'll find that out anyway by viewing updated topics since I was last on the forum.

Also if there is a few of those posts between members comments it breaks any conversation up making it harder to follow.

I never tend to go on the forum homepage, I just hot "show unread posts" and when the forum is busy you can just click back and forward between the list of new posts as people update and put comments in the shoutbox, I can't do that anymore and it just makes it less user friendly to have to go and look for the shoutbox . .
It's better to burn out than to fade away . . .

have to agree, the forum notifications are not needed, i think the biggest reason chatbox is not used is its unsuccesfulness on the original one, turn off the notifications and im sure it will start getting used more  ;)
