actually, reversed the order instead.  seemed a bit bizarre having the newest message the furthest from the entry box..  no other chat facility i have ever seen/used/written does that..

so now it doesn't :D

It might just be me but I don't think the show unread posts choice is working as it used to.  I sort of auto login by selecting forum . I then select show unread since last visit. Instead of a few posts new to me I get a empty screen with no posts on it. I then select show all unread posts which gives me an enormous list of posts some of which are new and some aren't.  It difficult to keep track of things. Advice please.  - Iain

Hi @scotty

I have noticed that the Unread since last visit thing does not always behave and you miss messages that are new. This is not a new "feature" as I have noticed it since i joined last year :)

Showing all unread posts includes ones the forum had previously flagged as unread to you when you logged in before i suspect too, so it then treats them as not new, i.e. not new since you last logged in..

cheers

its should really be "show unread posts" not "since last time" with and option to "mark it as read" so it drops off your list, then you wouldn't miss things
It's better to burn out than to fade away . . .

Like the messenger?, shoutbox already supports sending private messages i think, will see what different shoutboxes are out there and perhaps try one or more out to see what they provide?

yh as per messenger style.  I sometimes tink it would be quicker and easier for a system like that if the member you want to message is online, instead of sending a pm which is then limited to 5 per hour.

the 5 per hour could be changed , although it is far from an ideal method for chatting , so a better shoutbox/chat with personal chat built in sounds a plan :)
