Actual progress with my chevette
« on: Feb 09, 2014, 20:06:30 »
Some of you may have seen me posting on the facebook page. As promised here is a picture heavy thread of what ive been up to.

This is a picture heavy update lol

I started the day off by taking a load of pictures of how much of a mess she is in so here you go

Then we started taking the engine apart so we could get it out

I think the battery tray is slightly rotten

Thought i would show everyone some close ups of my wheels for her. Got dish????? lol

Got her up on ramps and stands to start taking the bits off underneath

Exhaust off

Propshaft off

And out it came

High rider lol

Was so happy that I didn't snap one bolt, didn't struggle to get anything undone or anything. It all came straight apart and was so easy. Quite surprising for a 31 year old car that has been sat around for a long time

Nice update, loving the rims, the patchwork sill is interesting but at least the A posts look better than normal, whats the plans for it running gear wise?

cheers mate. i do love the wheels, lightweight magnesium ally cats, they weigh nothing.

at the minute i am unsure of what engine/box/prop/diff to run. just weighing up the options and doing my research before i buy a doner car

oh hell yes, they are awesome. especially for what i paid for them. they are lightweight magnesium too

gonna have them refurbed, get the chrome rim/spoke faces back to proper chrome and either have the centres painted cream white or black, unsure which colour though

its done 30k and i have loads of receipts for it. could probably do with a clean and rebuild with it being 31 years old but was a cracking runner. Im in stafford. unsure if i want to sell it yet but if i get the right offer ill probably let it go
