Cylinder head hose attachment

(1/2) > >>

Jeff J:
Can anyone tell me if the heater hose attachment in the bottom l.h. corner of this pic. unscrews from the head or if it is secured by some other method. Thanks. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=vauxhall+chevette+cylinder+head+exploded+view&biw=1280&bih=739&tbm=isch&imgil=Zw2anxIaj75hNM%253A%253BDLCobj2N8m1qPM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.partsgateway.co.uk%25252Fvauxhall-parts%25252Fcylinder-head&source=iu&pf=m&fir=Zw2anxIaj75hNM%253A%252CDLCobj2N8m1qPM%252C_&usg=__fV8cWUhtQQuXSm9oEiMY_gQiHuo%3D&ved=0ahUKEwjK0orc2brSAhUsD8AKHSNhD70QyjcIJQ&ei=fZK5WIqgG6yegAajwr3oCw#imgrc=3GuavxV8PoVsLM:

Ashley:
Yes it is screwed in.  The pipe has a taperred thread (can't remember size) to help it seal.

Jeff J:
Thanks Ashley, I'll give it a bit more torque. It is not mentioned in my Haynes manual.

scotty:
Be careful - I have known the pipe to break. It gets very corroded .

Chevette-SYBil:
If it is well coroded or brakes off, then fear not,  I have had new ones manufactured in stainless steel.

 They are 22.00 + P+P
